Umair - Leather accessories

INTRODUCTION & DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:

Leather Fashion is a leather accessories retail shop. It was established in 1991 by Mr. Muhammad Taimoor. This shop deals in all kinds of leather bags and wallets both ladies and gents. As it is located in a very busy area like Liberty Market Gulberg, it is visited by many of its customers every day. Mr. Taimoor has an accessories maker who makes who makes new designs for the shop and delivers them on his shop for display. It is quite an old & well recognized shop but still has a manual database.
The main problem with this system is that the records are kept on registers and these registers take a lot of space of the shop. It is difficult for the owner as well to look up on the everyday dealings on these registers, and the records are easily accessible to anyone who comes to the shop and there is no data security. The major problem is that the items are not given specified items number properly and makes the workers work hard to find the items in the stock. So, it is very difficult for both the owner and the workers to look up the records.
So, Mr. Taimoor asked for my help to give him a computerized system to maintain his costs.

AIM:
My aim is to give Leather Fashion an efficient computerized system to maintain the records of daily transactions on the large memory of computer other than on huge piles of pages using the further objectives.

OBJECTIVES:
1. My objective is to make the system user friendly so that the fixed costs reduce as many workers would not be needed.
(What does user friendliness has to do with reduced fixed costs?)
2. To reduce paperwork and store data on huge storage capacity of computer hard disks.
3. To manage the records of the items in the shop by making a database including of item numbers and their positions.
4. As the data is saved on computers there will be a security check by applying passwords and selected people would be only able to access data.
5. By making separate charts for different items and categorizing them.
6. Use POS terminal for automatic data entry so that errors would be avoided and customers get their computerized receipt.
7. Improve goodwill of the shop by maximum customer satisfaction.

Very precise set of objectives. Good work. However, if you add a thing or two about speed of work, searching etc. it will add to your portfolio of objectives here.
